Fast-moving consumer goods giant Hindustan Unilever (HINDUNILVR, BOM:500696) plans to split the roles of chairman and managing director into two individuals, with effect from March 31, according to a Thursday statement.
With the plan, Nitin Paranjpe, who is currently the chief operations officer of Unilever, was appointed as non-executive chairman, while chairman and managing director Sanjiv Mehta will continue to lead the top management as chief executive officer and managing director.
